Earth Day Victory Garden Cleanup

It is getting warm outside and we will start to hear the birds chirping, the critters crawling, and DPG gardens planting their crops for what we hope will be longer lasting warm weather than we had last year.

The Victory Garden will be open again this year and we currently have 13 plots that are not spoken for. If you are interested in being assigned a plot, please send me, CSM Rawls an email at mauvet.m.rawls.mil@army.mil. If you think a plot is too big for you, I can assign half and see if anyone would like the other half. If I have no takers for a half, each person will be responsible for their entire plot. If you don’t have a clue about gardening, there are others with knowledge that will assist as they did for me.

Additionally, April 22, 2023 is Earth Day. We are currently planning to use that day to clean up the garden. Work on the maintenance of the garden equipment and grounds. It will also be a great time for people to see their assigned plots and prepare it for planting season. I encourage you all to come out, even if you do not have a plot, any assistance you can provide would be truly appreciated. Assistance, such as clearing bushes, reinforcing the fences, etc. would be greatly appreciated. We are planning to have a BBQ that day also. More to follow on the exact time.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Rawls, Mauvet M.
